"TENZO" System for monitoring of force impact of the wheel on the rail

The system is a subsystem and is installed with the “Automated diagnostic system for the measurement of geometrical parameters of car wheelsets” or “Digital diagnostic system for the measurement of geometrical parameters of rolling stock wheelsets.”

Intended application

Detection of such defects during the train movement as slid flat, weld-on deposit, void and uneven wear; monitoring of car weight, load on car axle, higher-than-normal impact of the wheel on the rail, distribution of car weight. The system registers and promptly transfers information to the nearest maintenance depot.

Operating principle 

Operating principle of the system is based on laser non-contact control of geometry of moving three-dimensional objects using strain gauge position sensors. 

Distinctive feature 

A distinctive feature is non-contact measurement of geometrical parameters of wheelsets of rolling stock during its movement at speeds up to 60 km/h in variouis climatic conditions.
Application of the system makes it possible to enhance reliability of the rolling stock and eliminate to the greatest possible degree the possibility of accidents on the railway caused by the force impact of the wheel on the rail.
